History of Vivo

Vivo Sinfonietta is a chamber orchestra based in the Ann Arbor and performs at the University Lutheran Chapel. Vivo Sinfonietta is different from other orchestras because it is by definition a chamber orchestra. Chamber music is written specifically for a smaller group of instruments which could traditionally be accommodated in a palace chamber.

The orchestra began as an idea several years ago by, Music Director and Conductor, Brett Koval Luginbill and board member Wendy Eason. As they gathered at the nearly completed, newly restored University Lutheran Chapel, they decided the intimate nature of this remade facility would be a perfect location for a chamber music orchestra. It was there that Vivo Sinfonietta was born.

Vivo Sinfonietta is composed professional and semi professional musicians from Southeastern Michigan. It presents an annual season from September to April featuring a variety of classical and symphonic presentations under the dynamic leadership of Musical Director and Conductor, Brett Koval Luginbill.
